Shop

It seems there's only so long the big shop can be delayed before you have to gird your loins, grab your bags for life and head out. But it turns out that if you go in with a list and a outward air of breezy, "isn't this mad", "what are we like" while you smile and nod sympathetically at everyone you're imagining slaughtering in increasingly outrageously gruesome ways, you can get through it. 

Actually, now that I think about it, you never hear of mass shootings in American malls at Christmas even though it's definitely the time most normally sane people would contemplate doing one. Weird.

Anyway, that's done and we had 23 teenagers over for Chris' Christmas party. They're an incredibly loud but well behaved bunch. Nothing broken or soiled. No fires or injuries. M and I hid upstairs watching films in the spare room.
