Edging towards the
holiday, I stopped for a
special treat for me

~carliewired

I was up at 4:30 writing postcards to send off today, then returned to my comfortable bed for more sleep and for the sun to arrive. At 9:30 I zoomed off to the gas station for a fill and headed over to Martha's Gardens on the other side of the interstate highway.

It's my first visit of the season. I'd been told that food services had ended here, but I found this not to be true. They make the most delicious sandwiches and I very much wanted one. I also wanted a Christmas treat - chocolate covered dates.

I have painted here several times with our group. I enjoy the driftwood horse created by an artist from Washington state. The fountain wasn't operating today, but that has been a great focus for drawing and painting.

The Christmas tree inside is taller than I am. They do a really nice job with their decorations.

I noticed that some of the trees in their courtyard had bags on them. It's the first I've seen them here. I understand the bagging is to protect the tree from insects and birds.

I was home for lunch and I will remain at home for the rest of the day.
