Rien ne va plus

I've never seen so many Postbuses parked across the road as today. The road conditions around Bern were precarious, the snow had solidified into an icy, slippery mass and it was as slippery as an ice rink. 

The Postbus on the right in the picture had skidded off the road. I was in the Postbus in the centre of the picture, which could no longer move without sliding into the other one. A little further back (and not in the picture) there was a third Postbus next to the road, the police were already on the scene. 

In the end, all the passengers continued on foot and then somehow organised themselves because there was no prospect of the situation being resolved quickly. I myself walked to the next roundabout where cars could still circulate and my boss then picked me up by car.
