Waiting for Nightfall
Maybe this isn’t the place to air every grief, but there you go. My niece died after a long, long time from a disease that wasn’t physically painful as much as it was like living in a dark bag knowing there was no way out. A really awful type of Alzheimer’s called Posterior Cortical Atrophy. She was 61 and a bundle of energy and laughter before this hit. The Extra is a pic someone shared of Mary as a teen, along with a pic of her parents, my sister Kathi and Jim.
