Meeting a friend

Met up with P my friend who lives in Bournemouth. We have a collection of places which are roughly halfway, but hadn’t tried Shaftesbury before. A very pretty town, rather well to do by the look of it. My phone told me the temperature ‘feels like’ minus 7c because of the wind. Anyhow we wrapped up warm and went for a walk through the town and the park. It’s right up on a steep hill, so there are great views. I imagine there was a very early settlement there, as it would have been easier to defend.
One of the well known hills is this - Gold Hill - which is used in tourist publicity - but is also famous for a TV ad for Hovis bread decades ago.
It’s P’s second Christmas without her partner and my dear friend L. Hard for her. We talked abut L a lot which was good for both of us.
