Sunday ...

... funday.

We had both read last night on Facebook that there were sightings of some Snow Geese in our area.  So today we set out to find some ourselves as it would be our first sightings for the season.  

We drove north to the locations that they were seen yesterday but we didn't see any.  I had just made the comment that we were on a wild goose chase (quite literally!) when we finally spotted some soaring high in the sky.  We drove to this location in the hopes of getting some decent shots ... but they were landing in an old quarry that we couldn't reach. 

We continued on our way thinking that was that.  But as we got closer to home we saw some more ... lots more!  We pulled into a local housing development as we know there is a large retention pond on the property.  And were rewarded by our diligence.  There were thousands upon thousands of snow geese here! Yay!

We took lots of pictures here before starting back home.  And on the way home we passed another field with even more snow geese than the first location.  And then as we were getting ready to leave this location Richard spotted this beautiful red fox!  And he/she soon took precedence over the snow geese!
