Snow on Blencathra

All the fells had a dusting of snow today. Colder than yesterday, with less wind but still bitter on the top of High Rigg from where this shot was taken. Another Wainwright ticked off.

We walked back to our friends’ house, passing Castlrigg Stone Circle. It’s a special place and you can see why those prehistoric people chose to build their circle here, an amphitheater surrounded on all sides by amazing views.

After lunch we walked into Keswick to browse the gear shops, visit Max the Miracle dog in Hope Park, have a coffee at the Inn on the Square and admire the Christmas lights

This evening g we tried valiantly to complete the Sunday Times general knowledge crossword and failing to do very well at all
