Long Meg and her daughters

Another lovely day which we spent pottering around and exploring.
1st to this huge stone circle near Glassonby. There are 68 grey stones arranged round (and were probably more originally) the circle, 2 deep in a couple of places, and one upright sandstone one (the pointy one directly above the 3 in left foreground) with cup and ring markings just outside the circle.
Next to Lazonby and a walk along the river and in the afternoon to Potfest at Hutton-le-Forest. This is a showcase for ceramics held in the grounds of an old house with fine gardens so we enjoyed those as well as marvelled at the pottery etc.
Then off to my sister's house for the family do the next day where we camped in her garden (strange how it was the 5 oldest people (except Mum) who were camping!) and started the catching up over pizzas.
