Long Walk
I decided to visit the Windsor Farm Shop and Café today. I'd never been (despite living fairly locally for many years), and was curious to see what I might have been missing. It was a bit of a gamble on the last Saturday before Christmas, but was no way as busy as I expected, and the café was well up to my standards! I rarely buy food from farm shops was tempted by some pork chops (lovely) and beef and ale pie (Sunday's dinner).
I stopped off in the park on the way home. The short walk I had roughly mapped out for myself was stymied by the path being closed, with rangers patrolling each end to stop people going along it. I also heard gunfire in the woods, so perhaps there was an incident with an injured animal or similar being dealt with. In any case I had to take an alternative route, and although it had not been my intent ended up at the copper horse looking down the Long Walk to Windsor Castle.
Every now and then the sun managed to break through the heavy clouds and I caught this shot of it lighting up the castle. However, the weather was definitely deteriorating, and by the time I got back to the car, this time via my originally planned route which was now open, it was dull, drizzly and basically miserable. Still it had been good to get out for some fresh air.
