Light shadow

Shortest day morning : light shining into the front hallway of our building through the window above the door, making a shadow of the very large drum shaped lampshade on the wall which holds the letterboxes. 

Cold, windy, lots of showers driving through from the WSW. Some sunshine in the gaps. Fetched a newspaper. 

Out in the wet and the wind in the evening (at least there wasn't ice on the ground, like a month ago), to the New Town church for the Gothic Voices Christmas programme They made excellent use of the acoustic in the church, filling the place with no amplification necessary (nor accompanying music). Reading the biographical notes I realised that this is the group whose first recording was 'A Feather on the Breath of God' 
(Abbess Hildegard of Bingen) which many of you will know.
