What duck?
If you look really closely at this photo, there is a black shape at the end of the track along which Bean and I were walking. It is a female Paradise Shelduck who was trying to lead Bean far away from her brood, by adopting the flapping squawking wounded bird technique.
As you can tell, Bean is wise to these pointless shenanigans now and completely ignores any such carry on.
The thunderstorms yesterday never happened. And while the forecast is the same for today the most we have had so far is a single subdued clap more or less overhead while I was picking raspberries.
The forecast rain hasn't really come to much. There is enough falling each day to keep vegetation moist and to water the outdoor beds, but not enough to stop us having good walks, and for harvesting to continue unabated. The temperatures are around 20C even when the rain is falling, which is quite unusual.
I have nevertheless spent a few hours indoors today and two new pairs of bedlinen trousers are the result. One pair will be mailed to Sweden. The other will be delivered down the road.
