In A Stable
When you have special tasks, the routine jobs are still waiting for your attention. I made us a sausage breakfast to pump us up with protein. We had two loads of laundry to finish. Hubby took all our trash and recycling to the convenience center. I had a nice chat with our mother. My sister and I agree that we believe her biggest problem living by herself was that she was not taking her medication. She was so alert and cognitive today. We also believe being around others keeps her mind active so she doesn’t dwell on things that never happened. We are delighted with her progress. I made up “coupons” that we are giving her. There is one for each month to take her out for a special treat. Of course, we will go more often if she is able but these will give her something to look forward to. Plus, it will give sister Barbara a break. Hubby helped me find cute clipart for each month to dress up the coupons. We are going to start our Christmas Eve festivities at 12:30 vs 2:00 which will give us a chance to enjoy the day without rushing. Kim has decided on three games/prizes to add to the fun. Tomorrow, I have to work on my dining room and put up my “COVID” tree in the formal living room. My sister made a tree with an ornament for each family member. It was to bring them near when we were prohibited from having family gatherings because of the epidemic. It is a treasure. Speaking of special moments, Isla got on the phone and called me “Grammy” for the first time. Once she figured out how to say words, she is unstoppable. We went to 5:00 Mass. I took a photo of our parish Nativity. My first shots were before Mass as the sun was setting. This one after dark is better. I made a roast and hubby is ready for dinner. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for the visit. "Once in our world, a stable had something in it that was bigger than our whole world." —C.S. LEWIS
