Big Fun(Wet) Run

Ah the Scottish summer and outdoor events.

Two weeks ago Edinburgh sizzled in the 23ºC summer sun as thousands struggled in the heat taking part in the Great Edinburgh 10k run but then forward to today and Edinburgh drowned in the soaking Scottish rain as a few hundred runners braved the elements for the Big Fun Run 5k.

Both events took part in and around Holyrood Park with today's 5k run going around the hilly perimeter of Arthur's Seat.

Overall despite the weather it was another enjoyable event in my 2013 100k Charity Challenge which is now at the 50% complete. Many more events over the next few months will see the challenge end at the 5k Santa Dash in Glasgow in December.
