Santa
SATURDAY - Winter Solstice
It was a bit of a nail-biter this morning with the weather, as strong winds were forecast, leaving me wondering if the Prestatyn Parkrun would go ahead. The Run Director waited until 07:52 to post on Facebook and confirm it was on.
I may have overdressed for the run. It was the first time this year I wore leggings. and wore an extra (Christmas) running shirt and Santa hat. It was overkill and a bit toasty for the balmy 11ºC weather.
The first half of the run and the final km were spent battling a strong headwind and driving rain. I finished firmly in the tortoise league with a time of 29:36.
Afterwards, I made a beeline for M&S café for breakfast, picked up a clothing order and battled the crowds in the Food Hall for a small, unplanned grocery haul.
The afternoon was spent wrapping Christmas presents.
This evening, one of our lovely neighbours hosted a "Festive Event" that drew 30-40 villagers, and provided anotheropportunity for some socialising. And Santa himself made an appearance, doing a charity run for St Kentigern's Hospice. A lovely touch to round off the evening.
