Day Lily with Droplets
Had a lovely day out with Akasha. We went to Muston to photograph the Scarecrow Festival, but just as we'd paid to park up in a field the rain started. We tried to sit it out, but when the thunder started to roll we called it quits...so the only scarecrows that we saw were from the car window!
We decided to go to nearby Reighton Garden Centre to photograph flowers and the birds that have made their home in the nurseries. The sun came out again so we had great conditions for doing this as the flowers were covered in water droplets.
On the way home, we called up to Flamborough Lighthouse, as once the thunder and rain had stopped the sky was left blue with fluffy clouds. About a half hour after getting there the thunder could be heard rumbling in the distance and lightening flashed....no rain at this point though. We took pictures of the darkening sky and you could see the rain falling from the clouds in the distance.
It was very atmospheric to be stood on the cliff top, by the lighthouse with the thunder rumbling and lightening flashing. Wish I'd got a shot of the lightening but it wasn't to be. The rain came again just as we hopped back in the car!
About an hour later, the sun came out again and it's been glorious again.....
