Phase 1

Phase 1 of the garage is now completed - the new roof has been put on and the solar panels re-instated.  They should now generate more electricity (once re-connected).  

Phase 2 will be the new door which has been ordered and should be fitted in February and Phase 3 will be re-rendering the outside walls which requires higher temperatures, so probably late February/March.  In the meantime Tom can organise the inside (which now has more storage space) and free up space in the house. This in turns means we can turn our attention to internal work, starting with improving the heating.  Then the dining room, kitchen and scullery, outside toilet, inside bathroom,  create a bedroom in the extension, add a "conservatory" so that the outside toilet can be accessed from inside the house (no idea why wasn't in the first place).  I reckon this will take us 18mths or so to complete as we'd rather take out time so we can continue with other activities and also due to availability of trades people. (I'm mainly writing this so I have a record of what we have committed too). 

In addition now that the scaffolding is down I have no excuse not to start tackling the garden (but I will wait until the new year).

We did take a small step forward today - we went to Perth to collect our new blinds from Dunelm and T is busy putting them up.
