Early Snowdrops
Far too early really. I used to expect them at the end of January not the third week of December. A sure sign of climate change. Something for Flower Friday though.
Yesterday
I missed all the blips. What a busy day. What follows is for myself so don't feel you need to read it, except the last paragraph which pertains to a surprise blipmeet.
Yoga was intense. I was the only participant in the class so I got undivided attention. Great in some ways but quite challenging in others.
Straight off to Edinburgh and gallons of tea in the Portrait Gallery cafe with the person who was my best friend at school and for some years afterwards. We keep in touch but rarely see each other. What a lovely interlude and of course it was as if we had seen each other last week. Her life is entirely different to how I imagined it would turn out but she is well and happy.
Then I walked to Bruntsfield to some other friends' flat. We walked some more to the restaurant where we always eat before the Queen's Hall. The Christmas Songbook concert was enjoyable but not a classic. I'll be interested to get a report from friends who are going tonight. There seemed to be a lot less energy on stage than we've come to expect and some slightly doleful tunes. Still a great night though and a good start to the festivities.
Got the second last train home which was busy. What a surprise when Blipper Alan Roger sat opposite. A delightful chat which made at least part of the journey home pass in a flash.
Today
Back to rather miserable weather with more to come over the weekend. Snowdrops by the river.
Prep for entertaining tomorrow and an unexpected call from a former colleague who has my number listed under someone else's name. Good to hear his news. This afternoon I'm at a friend's house to finish packing the goody bags for distribution over the weekend.
