Dragonfly

I love macro photography, but when I go hunting for live subjects I'm rarely successful, so if I happen upon an insect I grab the opportunity.
This was the case when I went to photograph the Christmas wreath on the front door for the colourful abstract challenge.

Poised on the door knocker was this dragonfly.
