After a whole lot of traipsing round care homes, dealing with small print and ridiculous clauses, a terrible social worker and an altogether shoddy system of care for the elderly, we made the decision to take my Mum home to her own house and employ a team of people to come to the house and help Dad look after her. It's 100% been the right decision. Both of them are happier and we all feel better.

My Dad has put the garden tree up so Mum can see it from her room. It made me happy to see all the little lights twinkling as it started to get dark when I popped in this afternoon.
