Mr KCNQ2Haiku and I had a walk out today that involved coffee and a shared Bakewell tart. Can't complain..
Except, of course, for the things that I can complain about.. it was a tricky morning with Ben, he was very angry about things, mainly getting his arm stuck in his jumper; detaching his Dexcom CGM sensor to change it and getting out of the car to go to school :-( So I've been a bit scratched and pushed about and I spent the day worried he was unsettled.. but then I collected him at 3pm and they said he'd had a great day.. go figure.
The other grumble is that the school we had been looking at for him have rejected him based on his behaviour and the threat he might pose to other students. It's really so disappointing, as we had really bonded with it. I've asked the local authority to request they reconsider and I've sent an email asking that they talk to his current school and his old respite provider before they make this decision but I suspect we're barking up a tree that isn't going to change it's mind.. so we'll be back to the drawing board in the New Year. Sigh.
