Not a Christmas cake

Just a fruit cake for Christmas, which will remain un-iced and without marzipan, as I'm not especially attracted to these "extras". Most of the morning, or so it seemed, was spent at Tesco and  people were apparently shopping for the end of the World, not just Christmas which is still 1 week away!
