A fruitful day…between last night and this morning I’ve done the present wrapping, apart from a few last minute things still to arrive. I had a visitor this afternoon and aim to make rum butter this evening and lemon curd tomorrow.

This bone china thimble is one of a set I bought the first Christmas I was married so this is it’s 37th airing. Our first tree came with decorations but I gradually replaced them with better ones over the years, often in the after Christmas sales. I left many of the larger tree ornaments behind when I divorced as my tree is now about half the size but these were some of my favourites.
