First firing

The weather forecast suggested good conditions for a first firing of Ellen’s recently acquired Raku kiln.  It is basically an insulated dustbin with a hole through which a gas jet is fired.  The gas was turned off when the temperature reached 900 degrees C.  The fired pots look good and Ellen is excited about future possibilities.
