Joseph
After walking Django, it was back into Edinburgh, this time to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with A and daughter K at the Playhouse. It was hugely enjoyable, and we got to see Donny Osmond perform two numbers as Pharaoh. Ever the charismatic showman, he clearly enjoyed himself as well. The other leads and the supporting cast - including lots of children - were also excellent. Afterwards, we met up with И and her boyfriend A, who had also been to the performance, and had food and beer at a nearby bar.
Back home, I followed the exciting Celtic-Rangers cup final, and the final thrilling minutes of the Manchester derby. I did some work before A returned with daughter L, who has had to move out of her London flat temporarily. We spent a long time catching up with her - particularly the account of her visit to Brazil. She's got a friend whose grandmother is from an Amazonian tribe, and a group of them went with her for a sequence of spiritual ceremonies in the jungle. Of course it was tough at times, but an amazing experience. We went to bed late....
