Maldon Prom parkrun - 2 kind gifts and a great run

A lovely day for parkrun.  As I have been unable to run properly for several weeks,  I took today's parkrun steadily. I managed to keep ahead of G for some time, until the last bit round the lake. As G approached me, 2 of my parkrun friends called out - one saying, 'don't let him catch you'. Fantastic motivation,  but I did not have anything left to accelerate up the hill for the final time. I was pleased to have been able to keep going and beat my running rival Gill.

It was good to chat to parkrun friends and share news, before the run. 2 gifts today - the first to Gabi our prolific volunteer; an essential part of our team. She celebrated her 250th volunteer stint and Grant kindly gifted her a flag to help her to celebrate.
Gift 2 - M's husband delivered a 'Celebration Bell', gifted by M, so I gleefully used it to celebrate M's kind gift and today's parkrun.  

Strictly Final this evening was excellent! This series has made the License fee worthwhile. No spoilers - but the couple who most represented the spirit of Strictly, won. Much to everyone's delight.
