Geocaching and irritating phone messages

Walked to Taylor Park to replace one of my geocaches that had gone missing. Can you see it?
I heard nothing from cardiology so I thought I'd ring appointments. Oh my. I spent what felt like an age on the phone trying to find out why I did not receive the telephone appointment from cardiology yesterday.
When I rang switchboard I got a very long message  about a number of different reasons why not to attend hospital etc and when it finally finished I was on hold a while before being told I was number 9 in the queue.
Patiently held on till it was my turn (took a while) and once I was through I asked to be put through to appointments.
This brought me to another long message before being told I was number 11 in the queue. I held on a while but it was very slow so I chose the option for a ring back.
While waiting for them to call me back I rang cardiology - guess what - another long message then choose one of 2 numbers ie either for scans / xrays or change appointment - chose the latter and was put through to appointments and another stupid queue!
Anyway, a very nice lady called me back as arranged and she found the telephone booking on the system but it was obvious it had not taken place and there was no explanation.
She has emailed through to them and given them my phone number.
No-one has called me and they are closed till tomorrow. I had already emailed them yesterday so hoped they would contact me when they saw that today - perhaps the appointments lady's email will be deemed more important than mine but I don't feel confident that anyone will contact me.
I'm fed up with wasting hours of my time for no result!
I have decided that if I do not hear from them by lunchtime tomorrow I will contact PALS and will put a formal complaint in.
The hospital is drowning in bureaucracy.
Sometimes I feel abandoned by the NHS.
