rachelwhynot got us all on the date today! 12.12.24 is unique! AND it reads the same British and American style!

I worked from home as I normally do on a Thursday. G went to school but was back mid-morning. Now that I've committed to the Winter Party, I figured I ought to think about what I'm going to wear. I went on the hunt for my black polo neck except I couldn't see it anywhere. The wardrobe got tidied! :P

I then remembered that my watch needed a new battery, so at 8 PM with an hour left, we headed to Deira City Centre where Longines have a man who changes batteries while you wait. G was really miffed (and tired), so rather than having a broggle in the mall, we sat and waited. She found this book to read (Omega's Timekeeping Story) which was so interesting and up-to-date (it had the Paris Olympics in it), that she asked the shop assistant where she could get a copy. The assistant referred her to the manager (Amber) who said G could have the book! Wow. G was super-thrilled.

The fact that we happened to be next to Carrefour where she got all the chocolate she wanted to take to school on her last day made the trip worthwhile, and we did it all in less than an hour. I love living where we do!

I had to tidy up my room when I got back. :(
