Tain at Christmas time
I've had a very low key day, and that suits me fine. Somewhat to my surprise, after starting coughing yesterday, I slept really well and for a long time. The cough does not appear to have taken hold, which is a relief. Apart from a few incidents of coughing, I've been fine during the day, helped by taking it very easy (although I was working all day, pretty much, apart from venturing out in the early afternoon to get some cough mixture from the pharmacy in case I am not properly out of the woods). The wheeziness, which was periodically awful yesterday and even overnight, seems to have abated to a considerable degree. I no longer sound like an express train, except occasionally.
Consequently, along with a few online meetings, I powered through the to do list and was able to score a lot of things off it. The idea of going into a break over Christmas feeling on top of things is now feasible, it should be helped by nothing much more piling on top of me this week. Fingers crossed.
Meanwhile, the piece of news that I'd largely had under my hat for a few weeks was made fully public. The delay was not about me, but about getting the publicity right for the new President of the RSE. It should be fun to work with AM.
