When You're A Stranger (in the supermarket)
Today at work I walked in to find a plain, rather anonymous looking package on my desk, but I knew exactly what it was....
Work colleague and fellow blipper Hpx had left a black and white Ilford disposable camera for Blipfoto project 'When You're A Stranger.' If you're unaware of this project, the idea is to capture on black and white film pictures of strangers, taken by blippers, from all corners of the globe.
Now as the keen eyed amongst you will have noticed from my blips, people do not usually feature highly in my subjects, let alone strangers! But tonight at New World supermarket in Lincoln, it gave me the opportunity to capture these sweet (and slightly coy in front of the camera) girls on the deli counter.
Here's hoping the film version of this shot comes out as well as the digital version... crikey, no zoom, no screen, no focusing; no wonder shooting film again on an instant camera feels like photographic russian roulette.
