SHOPPING
We have our weekly shop delivered but today was too windy for the vans to come out to Stromness, so we drove to Kirkwall to collect our groceries.
Extra: EGG MILES? I buy eggs from local farms but also from the supermarket, especially in winter. These eggs were "subbed ". At least the cardboard carton "was made using wind and water energy". But also printed on the box .. "Our eggs are packed in Cornwall... after being hand picked by our family farmers.. all round Britain!" Theoretically then, the eggs could be laid in John O'Groats, sent to Truro to be packed and then shipped back north to Orkney, or perhaps even Shetland.
