Confucius in Brisbane

I caught a bus into the city and walked around the Southbank area. The statue of Confucius was donated to the people of Queensland by the Ji’nan Municipal Government, Shandong Province, People’s Republic of China, to mark the 150th anniversary of Queensland. It was unveiled in 2009.

I like the way Confucius has been located in the garden alongside a Queensland Bottle Tree, Brachychiton rupestris - a stately and impressive tree with hints of age and wisdom.
