Every Day I'm Shufflin'

Twas the work Christmas do today; we started it in the Old Joint Stock where we had a very short team meeting before scoffing a delicious lunch (sausage and mash for me). Following that I took on the mantle of Quizmaster for the others in a Big Quiz of 2024, which I possibly made too hard as the winning team got 15 points out of 40..! After a couple of quick pit stops at the market (cherry mulled wine) and Cherry Red's (cranberry & cinnamon gose), we popped to Lane 7 for our surprise activity; shuffleboard! I ended up on the Blue team with Rashad, Vanisha and Alex vs the Reds, Michelle, Sarah and Katie. Us Blues took an early lead, but the Reds clawed it back thanks to Katie being absolutely ruthless and constantly knocking our pucks off the board. At 38 - 38 we decided first to 50 would win. It got a bit squeaky bum time at 42 - 42, but we Blues suceeded in the end (despite Michelle's threats that the next Blue to score (me) would be fired, haha!) After a couple of arcade games, one of which involved Sarah and I throwing brown balls into an incresingly small toilet bowl, I headed home for a cheeky late McDonald's and, bizarrely, a documentary on yacht rock. Lovely day all around!
