I spent all of 10 minutes outside today, braving sub-freezing temps, in the hopes of being able to grab a usable shot. The light was low, the birds were hungry and the action was fast. In short order I was back inside, in front of the fire, happy enough with this shot to call it a day. The featured player is the irrepressible Tufted Titmouse, blending very well with the wintry tones of the woods.
Peg arrived in time for cocktails (club soda for me, alas) followed by a delicious dinner cooked by hubs and a good, long visit. We all trundled off to our bedrooms around 10. Peg had had a long day, having driven from Corning down to NJ with a stop at her hair guru before driving another hour out to us.
We all had a good sleep followed by overnight oats with loads of fresh berries and drizzle of maple syrup. Hubs has a meeting in NYC today so he headed out around 10 leaving Peg and I to sip tea and visit. And then we got on a zoom with our favorite yoga instructor and had a marvelous 1 hour practice. Always amazing how good I feel after yoga. And it was fun having Peg here in person with me for the class - usually we both dial in remotely and meet on the virtual mat. Jax joined us for yoga this morning too although to be fair, he mostly does the final Shivasana the entire time. Charlie stopped by for a few stretches too.
Hubs is picking Kura up later this afternoon after his meetingto bring her out to us from the City. Peg went to visit with another friend this afternoon, about an hour from us. With the usual Friday rush hour traffic, I expect that they will all get back here to the Lane between 6:30 and 7:00 tonight. I've got a big pot of white chili (chicken) in the crock pot so no matter what time everyone gets here, dinner will be ready. It already smells fantastic.
The last member of our little group of Besties should be arriving tomorrow.
