Sides of Leith
We survived the dreaded Friday 13th to make a successful escape to the Highlands. Mr A was *not* keen on travelling on that day, and to be honest the roads, at times, were quite quiet so perhaps others felt likewise.
I had a quick trip down to the hairdresser's this morning, taking some photographs to make a collage to represent the many sides of Leith, not all of which are hipster. I picked up some goodies from Krema and bread from Kvasa.
Our trip up was smooth, as indicated. We stopped for coffee and a bacon sandwich at the Gateway just south of Inverness, and then visited Highland Wholefoods for some necessary supplies of things we can only get there. We were in the house and the heating was on before 4pm, which was good. It was, however, very very cold in the house - <5 degrees.... It was cold last week and it showed. We're much more cosy now, having had the heating on and the curtains closed in the living room for the last few hours, and of course hotties in the bed. I took the day off to travel, but I will have to do some stuff over the weekend in preparation for Monday. But at least I will be working remotely all week, and things will get quieter as the week goes on, so long as nothing kicks off, as it has managed to do both of the last two years....
I'm hoping for better sleeps up here than I've had in Leith for the last couple of weeks. However, I've also got a bit of a head cold, so that's not particularly going to help on the sleeping front. Perhaps I should get Mr A to make me a hot toddy (although we have no lemons....but we might have lemon juice). But a head cold is not bad. Many people I know have much worse lurgies than that right now. A rest is definitely overdue. For everyone.
