The Not So Almighty Dollar (Coin)

The US Government has been trying for 30 years to get the American public to use dollar coins instead of dollar bills. Starting with the Susan B. Anthony in 1979 to the Sacagawea dollar in 2000 to the Presidential dollars starting in 2007. All utter failures as far as circulation.

But pretty cool for collectors. Over the years we've accumulated a nice little collection of dollar coins (and others) thanks to my Dad who always seems to have the latest State Quarter or Presidential Dollar to hand out to the grandkids. Which has been fun, and it's great, because we sure wouldn't ever see them looking through our change. :-)
