The flat bottle makes another guest appearance. I never did get around to providing info on the Banrock Station merlot, so here goes...

Space & weight savings reduce this wine's transport-related CO2 emissions. "..... but would it taste as good as glass bottled wine I wonder. A bit like cork v screw top I s'pose.

I made a batch of ham & leek gratin with Mum this morning, she was in charge of grating the cheese. A task I needed to demonstrate first, but she made a sterling job of it, with no injuries. 1 for lunch, 3 for the freezer.

Hubby wanted noodle soup for dinner tonight, so that's what he got. I was going to make risotto for myself, but there were tiny critters in the arborio rice (Been in the cupboard too long), so a hearty chicken & vegetable soup for me.
Watched the final of Masterchef:The Professionals. The 3 finalists all worthy of lifting the trophy. I really like Marcus Waring & Monica Galetti.
