Going Out
After a long workday, P and I decided to go for a meal at the nearby winery restaurant.
I enjoyed the veggie pasta and salad, while the people all around us were devouring several roast geese, complete with the usual trimmings (dumplings, red cabbage, chestnuts and lamb’s lettuce).
Yes, it’s a traditional dish in the time around Christmas. But neither P nor I would ever cook or eat these highly intelligent and social animals.
Nevertheless, it was good to end a dark and frustrating day in a friendly and festive atmosphere. And it was good to have someone else cook for us.
