If I'd been booked on an eleven mile Ramblers walk this morning I'd have taken myself off the list, but I was walking with friend Rachel and so I went. Walking with a friend is only half the story, she is part owner of Peak Walking Adventures and as she only had one client for today's walk she had asked me along too.

It was forecast to be wet and misty and it was, not torrential just continually mizzly... and cold, and muddy and boggy! I was slightly worried about the 11 miles, although it turned out to be 10, and it was a bit of a struggle because I'm just not used to it, but I was glad I went and I enjoyed the client's company and of course Rachel's. We finished off with a pot of tea in The Anglers Rest in Bamford village, somewhere Rachel hadn't been before.

Photo taken on the way up to Bamford Edge from Heatherdene car park, after that it was just too wet. Extras taken by Rachel.

9.94 miles
1,398 feet elevation gain
