Egret
A very grey, cold and rather heavy day. Himself went off to battle with the shopping in Bantry and I started some pre-Christmas cleaning activities - surfaces were wiped and windows cleaned and the spider webs in-between the beams demolished - I felt a bit guilty,
We did a bracing walk around the circuit, marvelling at how, although the sky was leaden, the water was an incredible turquoise in the little harbour. A little egret happily fishing.
A good evening for the book club bash, eight of us enjoyed a shared meal - there were four puddings on offer and mine was cracked open last so we were all pretty stuffed by the time we got to it, so I think we shall be dining on fig and orange trifle for a few days yet! We then watched The Painted Veil based on a Somerset Maugham story. I was a bit peeved to find the director had changed the ending.
