D Day

Well today was the day that I slightly feared. I had to go to the  Beatson  Cancer unit in Glasgow to find out the prognosis of my pesky cancer.
The consultant was very down to earth and she spoke directly to me and not over my head . Then she spoke with my youngest who had come with me
She told me it had been stage 2 bowel cancer.  They had removed it plus 17 lymph nodes which they said tested all clear.
From this stage she said I could have chemo via tablet form over 6months. The operation had given me a 75 percent of a good recovery and the cancer staying away. The chemo would only add an extra 3 percent  but could also compromise my heart condition.  I weighed up the pros and cons and decided to decline the chemo.  The consultant then said that would be the advice she would give were I her mother so I knew I was on the right track. They will keep an eye on me with follow up check ups.
All in all I'm happy.  Mr stabby pain she thinks is due to the healing process  after all they have  been guddling abiut my insides.
I made the right decision and now look forward to getting better.
Thank you all for your kind comments and encouragement  all of which I appreciate.
My only picture.  We had lunch at the University  Cafe which was brilliant.
