flowering

I uploaded this photo at 3.45pm, the moment of sunset. It hasn’t been a sunny day and had already started to get dark outside. I have already been on my walk so now is the time for some indoor activities - I do need to write some Christmas cards :-)

I have seen several blips of these beautiful flowers recently (Amarylli or Amaryllises??). This is the first time we have had one ourselves and I have really enjoyed seeing it emerge from what looked like quite an alien bud. I took the photo when I got up this morning, for maximum natural light..
