Winter is Here

Saturday morning has begun with that wonderful feeling of freedom and potential that you get only at the start of an extended vacation. It’s cold, wet, and wintery outside… but that only amplifies the cosiness of a morning spent snuggled indoors with hot coffee and games. Vanessa is Christmas shopping, and Milo has Liv back home for the weekend, so they are both content. Otherwise, it looks like a peaceful and uneventful weekend ahead, which suits me perfectly. For today’s blip, I revisited an old friend who is clearly prepared for the winter with appropriate clothing and a warm drink…

In the evening, I had taxi duty, driving Vanessa to Folkestone for what must have been the shortest work Christmas party on record. She arrived at 17.30, and I barely had time to make dinner for the boys before I received the call to pick her up just after seven. By all accounts, it was one of those office parties that was actually held in the office… which probably tells you all you need to know.
