This building on the corner of Frederick Street and Queen Street housed one of Edinburgh’s oldest pawnbrokers. The firm of Duncanson and Edwards has operated there for over a century. It was taken over by the H&T chain who undertook to preserve its distinctive frontage. In addition to lions there are eagles and ornate urns lining the exterior. See extra.
