Fire, Dorchester

This is the aftermath of a terrible fire which swept through these buildings in Dorchester during the last few days . The main building which was destroyed was a well loved and established cafe, The Gorge Cafe . Sadly , it and buildings either side are very badly damaged . The Gorge Cafe had a plaque which told of its historic links with Thomas Hardy as it was where he studied architecture .
We went to see ‘Paddington in Peru’ which was delightful and we stopped for a turkey carvery afterwards .
