Baths, church and trams

We decided to try out a different spa while we were here and the Gellert baths is quite close for an airport day so we plumped for that. Very different to yesterday’s but equally lovely and relaxing. We were there as they opened this morning and it’s definitely the best time to go - quiet!

After heating up and cooling off a fair few times, we headed to the church in the rock next door. It was larger than I expected and beautifully set out. 

We crossed the bridge and caught a tram back to Astoria where we found a typical courtyard cafe with great food and drinks. 

Late checkout meant we had our rooms ‘til 2pm so we had time for showers and sorting suitcases. Rich had a chill out in the bar area while I headed out for photos of the trams in the rain which I love - it gives me a little buzz every time I spot one! 

It’s been wet most of today and we feel lucky to have had two dry days before this one. Luckily, it cleared up to walk to the airport bus where we now await our evening flight. We’d both like to make city breaks a habit at this time of year - it’s a wonderful atmosphere.
