The second half of life..

Ferbirds are go!

(Those of you fortunate enough to be a child of the sixties will understand my oblique and slightly odd title!)

Woke at 2am to first sounds of light rain.
Woke again at 3am to continuous rain.
Woke at 5am with help of alarm to heavy and persistent rain so an easy decision NOT to go out to shoot early morning fernbirds.

Back to sleep then woke with a start at almost 9am.  Yikes!  Meeting time for today's workshop (indoors) session was 9am.  Made it for 9.12am!  Lucky the venue is close by.  Sadly, people were keen to leave sooner rather than later with the heavy rain posing some risk to roads and therefore connections.   Workshop through by about 10.30am.  Back to van to pore over pics and to have my morning coffee.

C & K 'visited' late afternoon as they're staying until tomorrow but were going a little stir crazy cooped up in their little rental.  Lovely to have some company, a cuppa and a nice chat.  By early evening there was a bit of a break in the weather and it seemed the worst of it had passed.  We decided on a board-walk to stretch our legs and wouldn't you know it........my favourite fernbird shot so far!  It may not be great technically but I love that I've managed to capture an 'iconic' fernbird pose.  Yay!

Aiming for a very early start tomorrow......we'll see how things go!
