Raising a cup of tea

Received some very sad news about a friend who passed away this morning. Whilst not unexpected it did seem rather sudden and is still very, very sad.

His was a life well lived and in keeping with his approach to life, he planned his Service of Celebration (“ No dreary memorial for me!”) in early autumn when it looked like his health had taken a turn for the worse.

This evening I toasted his memory with a mug of tea and a chocolate pancake. He would have approved!
