A Gorgeous Afternoon
So beautiful that I actually decided to, well start washing my windows. They were so dirty and when the winter rains set in I won’t want to be fussing around trying to do it. Plus, I’ve got house sitters coming for the first half of January when I’ll be in Mexico. So I’m going to systematically go through every room in my house to tidy it all up. Hopefully today was the beginning of that process ‘cause time is ticking!
I met my friend Pippa down in NW Portland late this afternoon. We have a fun restaurant/bar that we meet at for a drink (martinis!) and nibbles…not nearly often enough. My blip is a view out their window…gorgeous clear sky! Pippa is an amazing human - so well traveled and smart and fascinating. I met her when I was working for the botanical garden (not the one whose board I just joined). She’s fascinated with human and pet composting- now legal in Oregon and Washington states, and perhaps elsewhere. The pet piece is so much easier to negotiate than the human bit so has just started her business and has just had her first customer. I know it may sound odd, but I am so supportive of this holistic alternative to cremation. I’m actually going to stipulate in my will that my body will be composted. This will undoubtedly give you something to contemplate :-)
