Oimoi
It's an Ancient Greek term meaning 'alas' or 'woe is me', and it's also the title of the play I went to see tonight at the QMU in Glasgow, written and directed by one of my daughters. Blimey, there was a lot of work involved - a cast of 27, a near 2 hour running time. Plenty of laughs (it was a version of Mama Mia for the classicists after all) and I even got some of the references. Proud as owt we were, she did great.
Before that there'd been record shopping at Monorail for a few, erm, essentials (advancing some Christmas money that I'm expecting to come my way from my folks) and great pre-theatre ramen on Ashton Lane.
And before Glasgow there was a terrific film at The Cameo over lunchtime. I was completely absorbed by 'All We Imagine As Light'. Summat of a gem.
A Glasgow Purchase
