Pigeons
We're rarely in the area and hardly ever on foot but we had a gift voucher to spend. Walking up towards town we passed the Leith Walk bronze pigeons, who kindly posed for my blip.
I understand that they only landed back here last year, having migrated in 2006, during the disturbance of the tram works but during their time away they attended the health farm of Powderhall Bronze to spruce up their patina and such like. As in many a flock of pigeons, there seems to be one with a wonky foot - or perhaps it's just holding at an odd angle - it doesn't appear to be in pain anyway.
We had a delicious lunch in Taste of Italy, the premises were for many years an American Diner the kids loved.
An unsuccessful wander round John Lewis sent us to the bus stop close by and home mid-afternoon with time to catch up on domestic tasks before quiz night on TV.
